Maartje van Ewijk, MA, is cultural scientist, a mother of two (2014 and 2016) and passionate about Mindfulness, Yoga and everything having to do with mindfull living.
I am a firm believer in the practice of yoga and meditation in everyday life. Even and especially when days are busy and stressful.
Since I have kids and even more as we – as a family – have gone through a life changing relocation from The Netherlands to Pittsburgh in the US, I firmly believe that Mindfulness is the key to a balanced, conscious and connected life.
I started practicing yoga and meditation in 2002.
Over the years my interest in Mindfulness and conscious living has grown. In 2012 I decided to take the 8 week course in Mindfulness at MettaMind in Amsterdam. In 2014 I completed the level 1 training in MBSR – Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction – at the Center for Mindfulness in Amsterdam. This program is recognized by the Dutch associations of professional mindfulness teachers.
Metta Mama’s mission is to help women find balance in their lives and live life to the fullest. Meditation and mindfulness provides women the tools to live in the now, connect with their bodies and be able to cope with everyday stress and challenges. By offering mindfulness based (group) meditations Metta Mamma helps women to be grounded, less stressed, more relaxed, to sleep better, to be less anxious and be who they are the way they are. The meditations are based on MBSR (Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction).
My background in education and masters in Cultural Sciences provides me with a unique skillset to make the Mindfullness and Meditation sessions I’m offering very personal and experience driven.
Moms of all kind: new moms, expecting moms, working moms and stay at home moms, and all women looking for a more balanced and less stressful life can benefit from what Metta Mamma has to offer.
